My dad is a singer called Peter Wynne who was discovered by Larry Parnes and went on to perform on numerous TV shows and tours alongside such legends as Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochrane and Billy Fury.
During this time my dad recorded and performed with the cream of the UK session world including Brian Bennett and Clem Cattini. The connection with my dad made this meeting very special for me!
We met Brian, Clem and Bob backstage at the London Drum Show just before they were about to give a talk with Mike Dolbear about their careers. These guys have played with everybody and we have all grown up listening to their drumming. I am really honoured that they have signed my snare.
I can’t do justice to their incredible careers but here goes:
Bob Henrit
Bob was originally the drummer with Buster Meikle and The Day Breakers alongside Russ Ballard. He then went on to perform and record with The Roulettes and Adam Faith .
He then teamed up again with Russ Ballard and Rod Argent to form Argent.
When Argent broke up in 1976 Bob then went on to work with Roger Daltrey and The Kinks
Brian Bennett OBE
Brian came to prominence as a regular performer on Jack Good’s TV show ‘Oh Boy’ which lead to him joining Marty Wilde’s ‘Wildcats’
The Wildcats were chosen as the back-up band for the Larry Parnes tour with Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochrane that my dad also performed on. I believe Brian could well have performed with my dad on this tour.
After playing with Tommy Steele, Brian went on to join Cliff Richard and The Shadows in 1961, replacing Tony Meehan.
Brian is also a prolific composer and has composed music for many films and TV shows including the themes for ‘The Ruth Rendell Mysteries’, ‘Rugby Special’, ‘Robin’s Nest’, ‘Birds of a Feather’ and one of his most recognisable compositions is the BBC Golf Theme.
In 2004 he received an OBE for his services to music.

Clem Cattini
Clem is probably the UK’s most prolific session drummer. He has played on an incredible 44 UK number ones and has played with everyone from Englebert Humperdink to Lou Reed. It’s impossible to list all the records he has played on. When he was signing the snare my husband was discussing Jeff Beck with our friend Jerome Marcus. Clem then adds ‘I’ve played with Jeff Beck, I played drums on ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’!
Clem came to prominence in the Beat Boys which backed many singers managed by Larry Parnes including Marty Wilde, Billy Fury and as mentioned before, my dad Peter Wynne.
He then joined Johnny Kidd and Pirates playing on ‘Shakin all Over’ and then The Tornados playing on the international hit ‘Telstar’
Clem then went on to do sessions for Dusty Springfield, The Kinks, Herman’s Hermits, The Bee Gees, Marianne Faithfull, Cliff Richard, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones Joe Cocker an Tony Christie, playing on ‘(Is This The Way) Amarillo’
After playing on Donavon’s ‘Hurdy Gurdy Man’ with John Paul Jones, Clem was considered for the drum chair with Led Zeppelin.
More recently Clem has has performed with Paul Weller on his album ‘Wake Up The Nation’

Thanks again to Bob, Brian and Clem for signing the snare!

It was great to see my daughter with Clem at the London Drum Show.
I worked with Clem and Brian many times and glad to see they are both fit. They were great times the 60s, but you had to work damn hard.
Your doing a great job Dan that snare is going to be priceless.
See you soon
love you
Dad
